Watercolor paintings glow with the light penetrating the transparent watercolor paint and then reflecting back to you off of the paper. Watercolors require detailed planning and concentration. The whites have to be kept clean. The watercolorist paints the lights first and builds subsequent layers to achieve the darks. The result is elegant flowing color filled with a soft light.
